As part of Lime Academy Hornbeam, we run the Hospital and Home Teaching Service out of Whipps Cross Hospital. We have a school room on the ward, where pupils come for lessons on a daily basis, and also provide education to young people in their homes who are currently too unwell to attend school. Our students include those recovering from major surgery, children with cancer, children with a significant injury and children experiencing a flare up of a chronic illness. We can also provide education to young people who fall outside this remit on a traded basis.
“The Hospital and Home Teaching Service is outstanding. It meets pupils’ needs exceptionally well, whether they have a short or long stay in hospital or require home tuition.” Ofsted, June 2018
Head of Service
