Lime Staff Training

At Lime Trust we are passionate about creating a culture of professional growth and development for all staff.

To achieve this, we have created a comprehensive skills audit linked to each role within the Trust. The data generated from the Trust Skills Audit has enabled us to identify training needs and provide a detailed picture of the aspirations of our staff moving forward. We are using this to inform the strategic planning of training across the Trust and the crafting of pathways and bespoke programmes.

In addition to this, the School Improvement Team work closely with individual schools to craft their own CPD programmes designed to address the needs of each school.

This layered approach ensures all staff have access to the training they need to improve their knowledge and skills, advance in their careers and improve the education provided to students with diverse learning needs.

We are working tirelessly to develop excellent professional relationships with reputable training providers and educational charities to ensure our staff have the best opportunities to become experts in their respective fields. Our investment in professional development through use of platforms such as National College and training providers such as Education Child Protection ensure our training is current, research driven and constantly in line with changing DfE guidance.

In addition to this, our strong partnership with Ambition Institute, a national education charity at the forefront of educational research, enables us to offer a range NPQs as well as running our own Lime Trust Teacher Training provision from September 2024.

Overall, we aim to sow the seeds of future growth through our comprehensive training offer.

Career Development

At Lime Trust we are passionate about creating a culture of professional growth and career development for all staff.

For teaching staff, we utilise our strong partnership with Ambition Institute, a national education charity at the forefront of educational research, to offer a range NPQs that form part of our golden thread of professional development starting with our own Lime Trust Teacher Training provision from September 2024, through to our ECF (Early Career Framework) provision and then to specialist NPQ programmes. Instructional coaching, through Steplab, creates a culture of reflective practice and drives continuous improvement across the Trust.

For support staff, our approach to professional development takes into consideration roles, skills and prior experience to plan professional development opportunities tailored for individual needs. This could take the form of an apprenticeship, professional qualification or National College online seminar focusing on specific area of development.
